Laundry Service in Victoria, BC
Ruby Tuesday’s Laundry is a full-service wash and fold laundry based in Sidney, BC, with pickup and delivery to Greater Victoria addresses. You book a pickup online or by phone, the shop washes and dries the laundry, and it is delivered back to your address folded and bagged. Pickup and delivery fees rise with distance from the shop, and the Victoria rates are set out below.
How does laundry pickup and delivery work for Victoria addresses?
Pickups and deliveries run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and recurring pickups are scheduled on those days. A pickup on another weekday can be arranged when needed. Turnaround is one or two days, so ask when you book if you need your laundry back sooner.
Which parts of Greater Victoria does pickup cover?
Pickup and delivery covers Victoria, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Saanich, View Royal, Colwood and Langford. Langford is the western limit, so Sooke and other areas west of Langford are not served. Metchosin, the Highlands and anywhere up-Island beyond the Saanich Peninsula are not currently served either. Confirm your address when you book, since the pickup fee depends on the distance from the shop.
What does laundry pickup cost in Victoria?
Wash and fold is $2.00 per pound with a 12 lb minimum charge. Pickup and delivery are charged per direction, based on distance from the shop in Sidney, and Victoria is outside the 15 km zone that carries the lowest fee. Here is how the fees are set:
- Sidney and within 15 km of the shop: $7.50 each way
- Beyond 15 km: $10.00 each way
- Farther addresses such as Uptown, about 25 km away: $15.00 each way
- Beyond Uptown: fee confirmed when you book
Here is a worked example. A 20 lb order at $2.00 per pound is $40. Add a round trip, pickup and delivery, at $10.00 each way and the fees come to $20, for a total of $60. At $15.00 each way, the fees come to $30 and the total is $70.
Because the fee applies to each trip, a larger order collected less often spreads it across more pounds than several small orders do. Addresses closer to the shop pay less, and the laundry service in Saanich page covers that area. The price list has the full rates, including bedding and bulky items.
Who is a laundry pickup service useful for in Greater Victoria?
Greater Victoria has many condos and apartments with shared or coin-operated laundry rooms, where a few loads can mean waiting for a free machine and carrying a basket back and forth. A recurring pickup takes that chore out of the week. Bedding is the other common problem. Duvets, comforters and mattress covers are often too bulky for a home washer or a building’s shared machines, and Ruby Tuesday’s washes all three, with prices set by size.
Can Victoria businesses and rental hosts use commercial laundry service?
Yes, Ruby Tuesday’s offers pickup and delivery for businesses in Sidney and Greater Victoria, such as salons and restaurants. Commercial linens and towels start at $2.25 per pound. Linens from short-term and vacation rentals are billed at that commercial rate. Anything not on the price list can be quoted on request.
What laundry services does Ruby Tuesday’s not offer?
Ruby Tuesday’s no longer offers dry cleaning, and it does not launder wool or silk duvets. For more on dry cleaning, see the page on dry cleaning in Sidney.
FAQ
Is Ruby Tuesday’s a laundromat?
No, it is a full-service laundry, so there are no coin machines and you do not wash or dry anything yourself.
Can my laundry be washed unscented?
Yes, on request. Laundry is washed in the shop’s own eco-friendly soap blends, and the approach is allergy-aware. Mention unscented when you book.
Is my laundry washed with other customers’ laundry?
No, each customer’s laundry is washed separately, and the order system records item-level special-care instructions, so you can note how particular items should be handled.
Which bedding and bulky items can be washed?
Down and synthetic duvets and comforters, duvet covers, mattress covers and pet beds are all washed. Pet beds are washed separately from household laundry. The services page lists the rest.
