Here’s why this page is still worth ninety seconds of your time: a lot of what people bring to a dry cleaner never needed dry cleaning in the first place. If that’s what you’ve got, we can handle it — and it’ll cost you less.

What “dry clean only” actually means

That label is a manufacturer covering itself. It means the garment survives dry cleaning. It doesn’t mean dry cleaning is the only thing that works, and it doesn’t mean water will ruin it.

Solvent-based dry cleaning is genuinely necessary for a fairly short list: structured tailoring, most suits and blazers, silk and acetate, heavily beaded or sequinned pieces, leather and suede, and anything with fused interfacing that would pucker if it got wet.

For a great deal else, professional laundering does a better job. Solvent is excellent on oil and grease. It’s poor on sweat, body oils, food and drink — the things that actually make clothes and bedding smell. Those are water-soluble, and water is what removes them.

What we clean

Duvets and comforters. The single most common thing people carry to a dry cleaner unnecessarily. Down and synthetic duvets come out cleaner, loftier and fresher from a proper wash than from solvent. We have the machine capacity for king-size — most home washers don’t, which is the real reason people assume it’s a dry-clean job.

Blankets, quilts and bedspreads. Including wool, handled at the right temperature.

Pillows. Down, feather and synthetic.

Pet beds and pet blankets. Washed separately from household laundry, every time.

Everyday wash-and-fold. Sorted, washed, dried and folded, returned to you ready to put away.

Bulky and awkward items. We’ve cleaned trampoline netting. Ask.

They’re a few blocks from us, they’re well regarded locally, and they do wet cleaning as well as solvent — so they’ll also tell you straight if your item doesn’t need dry cleaning. Wedding gowns and formalwear in particular are their strength, not ours.

We’d rather send you to the right place than take your money for the wrong service.

No. We discontinued dry cleaning. We’re a full-service laundry — wash, dry and fold, plus duvets, blankets, pillows and pet bedding.

Can you clean a duvet that says “dry clean only”?
In almost every case, yes, and the result is usually better. Bring it in or send us a photo of the care label and we’ll confirm before we start.
